లినక్సు, విండోస్ లలో పి.డి.ఎఫ్ లు కలిపి కుట్టే (merge చేసే) మార్గం

కొన్నిసార్లు బోల్డన్ని పి.డి.ఎఫ్ ఫైళ్లు కలిపి ఒక ఫైల్ గా చేస్కోవాల్సిన అవసరం వస్తుంది. దానికి కావాల్సింది చిన్న కిటుకు, ఒకే ఒక్క కమాండ్! అదేంటో తెలుసుకుందాం!
ఘోస్ట్-స్క్రిప్ట్ అని బ్రహ్మాండమైన సాఫ్ట్వేర్ ఒకటుంది. అది చాలా వాటికి ఉపయోగపడుతుంది. అందులో ఇది ఒకటి. విండోస్ వాళ్ళు ఇక్కడికి వెళ్లి GPL Ghostscript అని ఉన్న వాటిల్లో తాజా వెర్షన్ మీద క్లిక్ చేసి, ఆ లోడ్ ఐన పేజిలో, చివర Microsft Windows అని ఉన్న దగ్గర రెండు ఫైళ్ళకు లింకులు ఉంటాయి. మీ కంప్యూటర్ 32 లేదా 64-బిట్అన్న దాన్ని బట్టి ఒకటి డౌన్లోడ్ చేస్కుని ఇన్స్టాల్ చేస్కోండి. ఒకవేళ మీకు ఏదో తెలియకపొతే 32-బిట్ దే డౌన్లోడ్ చేస్కోండి. లినక్సు వాళ్ళు ఈ క్రింది కమాండ్ తో అది ఇన్స్టాల్ చేస్కోండి.
sudo apt-get install ghostscript
ఇన్స్టాల్ అయ్యాక ఇక పి.డి.ఎఫ్ లు కలిపి కుట్టాల్సిన ప్రతిసారి ఆ ఫైళ్లు ఏ ఫోల్డర్ లో ఉన్నాయో ఆ ఫోల్డర్ కి టెర్మినల్(లినక్సు)/కమాండ్ప్రాంప్టు(విండోస్) లో వెళ్లి, ఈ క్రింది కమాండ్ ఇస్తే చాలు. ఈ కమాండ్ లో ఉన్న file1.pdf file2.pdf వగైరాలను మీ ఫైల్ పేర్లతో మార్చుకోండి. Final-Book.pdf లోనే ఆ మొత్తం కలిపి కుట్టిన పి.డి.ఎఫ్ ని బద్రపరుస్తుంది. దానికి కూడా మీకు కావల్సిన పేరు ఇచ్చుకోండి.
లినక్సు వాసులకి ఒక టిప్: ఒకవేళ మీ ఫైళ్ల పేర్లు ఒక నిర్ధిష్ట సరళిని అనుసరిస్తున్నట్టైతే, మీరు అన్ని పేర్లు ఒకదాని తర్వాత ఒకటి ఇవ్వనక్కరలేదు. ఈ క్రింది కమాండ్ లాగా ఇస్తే చాలు.
ఇక్కడ `for ((i=1;i<100;i++)); do echo File$i.pdf;done` అన్న కోడ్ మీ ఫైల్ పేర్లన్నీ లిస్టు చేస్తుంది. అందులో File$i.pdf ని మీ దగ్గర ఉన్న ఫైళ్ల సరళితో సరి చూస్కుని మార్చుకోవాలి. ఉదాహరణ కి మీ ఫైళ్ల పేర్లు ఇలా ఉన్నాయనుకోండి - suttigola[1] part1.pdf, suttigola[2] part2.pdf, suttigola[3] part3.pdf, suttigola[4] part4.pdf, suttigola[5] part5.pdf వగైరా. File$i.pdf ని suttigola[$i] part$i.pdf లా మార్చుకోవాలి.

cat 1.pdf 2.pdf > final.pdf or cat *.pdf > final.pdf
2) In windows, for combining pdf files, one can use pdfcreator software to merge into one. One needs to read FAQ/Manual. It is very simple.
Suresh, మీరు చెప్పిన లినక్సు పద్దతి ప్రయత్నించి చూశాను. పని చెయ్యలేదు. పి.డి.ఎఫ్ లకి ఒక్కొక్క ఫైల్ లో ఆ ఫైల్ వివరాలు, ఫైల్ నిర్మాణం లాంటివన్నీ దాంట్లోనే ఉంటాయి కదా? CAT ఉత్తి end-to-end కలుపుకుంటూ పోతుంది, పని చేయకపోవడం ఆశ్చర్యం కూడా కాదు. మీకు ఆ పద్దతి పని చేసిన దాఖలాలు ఉంటే చెప్పండి, పరిశీలించాల్సి ఉంటుంది :) విండోస్ లో టిప్ కి కృతజ్ఞతలు.
well, my bad...i thought "cat" works with pdf files just the way it works with "ps" files. But on my box, even that is not working..i mean cat ps...conclusion: cat doesn't work for ps on my box and never works with pdf anywhere (unless one uses pdftk):)

Sorry that it got posted multiple times...please delete one of them..
btw, one can use convert the way i mentioned above
command would be:
convert file1.pdf file2. pdf output.pdf
But i found quality to be inferior.
